WHAT IF acting as the representative of Maakri Holding, managed the entire construction project on a fast-paced schedule. The company fulfilled multiple roles, including lead designer, construction budget planner, construction procurement organizer, and client representative in communication with the general contractor and tenants.
Scope
3500 m² of gross floor area – transformation of the 5th floor of Stockmann department store into a modern wellness center offering health and beauty services.
Character
Modernization of the concept for the less-visited 5th floor of Stockmann department store. Reconstruction of all major common areas. Development of a new interior architectural concept. Relocation of existing tenants to new spaces and planning of a new Medicum health center as the anchor tenant for the floor.
Challenges
Gathering, organizing, and supplementing reliable as-built drawings, project documentation, and surveys for the existing building complex. Developing project plans and construction schedules while ensuring that tenants can continue operating with minimal disruption. Relocating existing tenants within the floor in the shortest possible time to minimize any impact on their service quality and the experience of the center’s visitors.
